My Profile

My name is Auwal Ahmed Garba; I am majoring in software engineering. I am a junior and a student of the American University of Nigeria. Since I was in the high school I have the vision of working in the IT and Oil and Gas sectors. With this note in mind, I was able to apply for this course of mine Software engineering. Today I was invited to be among the Game Changers of our generation which is to be part of this workshop or I will rather say and experience because anything a person do, be it good or bad the experience stays with him. When I received the email about the workshop on Simulation of oil crises, I was move because it is part of my dream. The curiosity I was having start becoming more and more stronger because I believe am on board now and I am willing to do everything possible to see this workshop become a success.
Working with people help one in developing his/her leadership skills, and also nurture one in
becoming a responsible person in a society. So therefore, any single activity a person participates in is an experience, be it a good one or a bad one. However, what I hope to achieve personally is the experience and demonstration of leadership skills. When people works, say leading or participating in such an important role that experience stays with them forever and could possibly be useful in one way or another. Also, I hope to achieve recognition professionally from this workshop training. If I am opportune, it will be added to my C.V, and then definitely that would improve my chances of getting offered a job in the future.
In regards to my experience in leading students, I'm well aware of my capabilities in executing duties assigned to me and well confident that I can work hard in order to see I've guided, helped students and execute all other duties assigned to me. I was the director of transport and presently the Treasurer of the Student Government Association.I was also in the African American Students Leadership Experience conference held in January 2014 and 2015 in Washington DC, it helps me in developing my leadership skills and my ability to associate with people is the strong skill that I envision will make me a well capable and successful. The position of the Director of transport that I held in the 2013/2014 academic and the position that I am currently holding as the Treasurer of the Student Government Association have helped me demonstrate a great leadership example. Guiding and being able to communicate a lot of things with my peers described how exemplary role model I was.
